I will overwhelm 'serious combatant' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer will face Jake Paul in an eight-bout match which will be shown live on the streaming platform.

British boxer Anthony Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the pair met personally to promote the upcoming bout.

Ex two-time world boxing king Anthony Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge mismatch - at Miami's venue on 19 December.

Fighter's Mindset

"I will injure his face and hurt his body. I'm here to prove my superiority," the British boxer, 35, stated.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.

"I intend to seriously aim to cause him pain. That's my intention."

Respectful Exchange

Despite those words, a composed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - typically known for his showmanship - shared friendly words and remained civil with each other.

Jake Paul rather attacked ex Joshua rival the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "a joke" after Ngannou declined a bout proposal.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, took aim at British opponent Tyson Fury - and rejected a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] is better than Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer stated.

"I give him credit for that."

Legitimate Opponent

Despite saying he intends to punish Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to comment unfavorably about his opponent's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he said.

Jake Paul's Background

Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mainly boxed MMA fighters or faded names since becoming pro.

He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Financial Success

Nevertheless, the novice continues to be one of the sport's largest commercial attractions, frequently receiving massive paydays.

Forecast and Belief

The 28-year-old predicted a knockout win in rounds four or five and asserted he would derail the highly-expected match between Joshua and Fury, which is apparently being planned for two years from now.

"It will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Paul stated.

Size Disparity

As the two fighters met for the customary stare-down, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it emphasized just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the fight is actually proceeding.
