19 of the Russian's 21 victories have been earned on hard courts

A revitalized Daniil Medvedev claimed his initial championship for nearly 30 months with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the competition final.

The athlete, a ex- world number one, has had a challenging year, achieving just one win at the major tournaments and undergoing a setback at the New York tournament.

The player's inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his serve in particular - resulted in him exiting of the top ten and ultimately splitting with long-term mentor Cervara.

Presently training with his coach and Goetzke, the tennis star has gradually improved in the last few weeks - peaking in a closely contested three-set win over Frenchman Moutet.

This marks his maiden title since the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hard surface since that period of the previous year.

Victory also signifies the Russian has secured 21 victories at twenty-one distinct events.

"This marks the first occasion I have attended a event with my children at once, so to get a trophy is especially meaningful," said world number 14 the champion.

"This title is in tribute of my child my daughter, because the maiden victory I won when my first daughter her name was delivered was for her."

Medvedev, the past champion, had been defeated in his past six finals, featuring in that event earlier this year.

The player's defensive approach and frequent emotional displays on court had led observers to wonder if his skill to perform at the highest level was concluded.

Yet the player has altered his approach in the past month, attempting to advance forward and compete assertively, supported by an better serving game.

The champion came back from a break down in the opening set against the tricky opponent, taking 4 of the concluding five points to go ahead.

Both players traded service breaks in the second set before Moutet, attempting for his initial tour title, took control to push for a final set.

Moutet defended four initial opportunities in a competitive final set before Medvedev won the break to fifteen to close out the victory.

Appropriately, the winner secured victory with a shot at the net, with the Frenchman unable to handle a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
